Limitless Life by Derwin Gray

“I cannot and will not allow the pain of my past to murder the happiness I experience today from knowing God as my father.” That statement by author Derwin Gray pretty much sums up his book, Limitless Life. This book is about transforming lives. As Christians we need to realize that we are supposed to be the salt of the earth and offer a little flavor of Heaven. We need to stop worshipping our wounds and “stop living out of the hurt we feel” and instead live out of “the healing Jesus provides”. Are you hiding behind an image you are trying to protect? Pastor Gray explains God is not interested in your image, but your heart. Are you living your life for your own glory indulging in your “self-crush” or are you using your talents and abilities for God’s glory? Are you a consumer or a contributor of Jesus’ kingdom? Your prayer life will answer that question for you. Are you praying for things to make yourself more comfortable in this life prostituting Jesus like some proverbial ATM machine in the sky believing your religious words are the magic pin number? These are the hard questions presented in Limitless Life. Pastor Gray will not just let you skim over those questions. He cuts right to the core and investigates your motives. You will find yourself challenged as well as encouraged. This book will not make you feel better about what you currently do, but it will encourage you to step up and do something different. We need to stop waiting to join His kingdom in Heaven and start growing His kingdom here. We need to be transformers, beginning with our own hearts. Just as Jesus did, we need to meet people in the damaged places and offer them a cup of grace. Underneath every outcast is a “trophy of grace”.
