Think and Make It Happen, by Dr. Augusto Cury is a provoking discussion regarding the thoughts of human beings and the inner process of the mind. A step-by-step guide teaches the reader how to challenge, discern, and direct his or her thoughts. Additionally, Dr. Cury demonstrates the necessity for people to be responsible for his or her thoughts and actions qualifying the inherent need to be accountable, whether individually or society as a whole.
Dr. Cury delivers a fantastic insight into the personality of Jesus Christ. He breaks down Jesus’ character and applies it to the common person making the process of achieving the Christian-goal seem more attainable and less overwhelming. Jesus is exemplified as the ideal module for correct thinking. This is strictly a practical comparison and not a religious one.
The cover of the book implies that it is a self-help book yet in part it reads more like psychology reference material, at times confusing the reader with the stage/audience analogy. I would have preferred more details pertaining to the methods of progression for each case study.
Overall, I found Dr. Cury’s psychological and scientific approach to the human personality refreshing. Rarely anymore can you find a psychological professional willing to stand against the current and demand personal responsibility. He does not allow for the recently created victimology syndrome.
